The inhabitants of our municipality can get information about current affairs. The surrounding of Gelenau offers recreation and relaxation. Along the well-signposted trails and cycle tracks you will come across romantic resting places and new starting points for longer tours.

When you come to our municipality I would like to recommend you the first German Stocking Museum. Among other things there you will find original and fully functional machines from 1900 for the production of stockings. Many special exhibitions are enriching our regular offers.
Delightful historical buildings, new and reconstructed tenements and a good infrastructure offer a lot for our citizens and guest. Especially during the summertime many visitors come to our leisure area "Am Kegelsberg" to visit the nice situated open-air swimming pool with its many attractions. Besides the sports area "Erzgebirgsblick" you will find the Alpine-coaster tobaggan run, accomodation facilities for kids and youngsters in our cottages, the hiking and bike station, the lookout tower, the nature trail about the local history and geography and last but not least the game reserve.
